DoD SkillBridge: Territory Manager
About the role
This is an unpaid, non-benefit eligible internship position in partnership with the DoD SkillBridge program. Ideal candidates are current US Foods employees who are eligible to participate in a DoD SkillBridge Internship.
Responsibilities
- Own and nurture the customer relationship in a team based selling model.
- Educate customers on ordering platforms and provide menu consultations, product recommendations and pricing strategies to help customers succeed.
- Drive sales success by selling to customers, increasing case growth, and acquiring new business.
- Work collaboratively with Specialists to assist with top penetration opportunities and new accounts opening.
- Manage deliveries to the routing schedule published by the transportation department; troubleshoot any problems that occur during the order process.
- Stay on the move by driving your personal motor vehicle to conduct regular check-ins, site visits and follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- 1+ year of sales experience preferred.
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver’s license is required, and motor vehicle record must be in good standing.
- Foodservice industry/culinary/restaurant management/hospitality experience preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities.
- Ability to build internal and external relationships and cold call to develop new business.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- A competitive spirit with a drive to exceed goals.
- Problem solving ability / organization and negotiation skills.
- Team up mentality to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Tech-savviness – proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools like Salesforce is a plus.
- Have the ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 75 lbs.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a valid driver’s license and a strong commitment to the foodservice industry.

Pay
Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The initial expected base rate for this role is between $55,000 - $95,000.
Schedule
The role involves daily outside the office environment working in the assigned territory, visiting customers in variable weather and temperature conditions.
Supervision
No direct reports.
