DOD SkillBridge Program - Survey Technician

About the role

Bolton & Menk is seeking a Survey Technician through the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge Program. This 3‑month immersive experience is based out of the Milwaukee, WI office and allows participants to collaborate with seasoned crew chiefs on real field projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with boundary surveys, construction staking, topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, and GPS data collection.
• Perform construction staking duties.
• Gain hands‑on experience with Trimble, Robotic Total Station, and GPS equipment.
• Interact with staff, landowners, contractors, and subcontractors.

Requirements

• Must be a Military Service Member with 180 days of service or fewer remaining before separation.
• Ability to work in extended outdoor conditions and navigate rugged terrain.
• General knowledge of land surveying and AutoCAD drafting is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, insurable under the firm’s standard rates, and personal transportation.
• Reimbursement for business‑related travel; motor‑vehicle record will be checked during onboarding.
• Relocation and housing are not included.
• Wages and benefits are provided by the Department of Defense while participating in the program.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time, part‑time, or internship basis without restriction.
