DoD SkillBridge Internship: Assistant Superintendent
About the role
The Assistant Superintendent supports daily field operations and works alongside the Superintendent to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules on complex construction projects. Responsibilities include assisting with trade coordination, material tracking, site logistics, and safety compliance. This role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to support overall site operations as needed.

Requirements
- Demonstrate interest in construction management or the construction industry
- Have served at least 180 days on active duty
- Be eligible to participate during the final six months of military service prior to separation or retirement
- Be expected to receive an honorable discharge
- Have completed the Transition Assistance Program (TAP/TGPS)
- Have attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
- Receive Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of the internship
Qualifications
- Computer Systems: Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Microsoft Project and Procore (preferred but not required)
Benefits
This is an unpaid internship through the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge Program. The intern selected for this role will not receive compensation or benefits from JRM Construction Management and will not be an employee, agent, or contractor of JRM Construction Management but rather will remain an employee of the DoD and will receive compensation and benefits through the DoD.
Pay
For SkillBridge graduates hired into an Assistant Superintendent role in New York City, the salary range is $65,000 to $90,000.
