Position Summary
Hamilton College seeks a Documentation & End User Training Specialist to lead the college through the implementation of Workday Student. The project is currently underway and will conclude in the spring of 2028.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a documentation style guide, standards, and templates for use across functional areas.
- Develop instructional material, coordinate, write, and edit content for Workday training materials and contextual help text and quick tips.
- Lead production of engaging video tutorials/demonstrations for faculty, students and staff.
- Work closely with both IT and the functional users to understand system and training needs for adopted Workday functionality.
- Identify where training gaps exist and create/update materials and documentation to address the needs.
- Participate in project planning activities, assessing necessary resources and estimating timelines for documentation development and production.
- Collaborate with departments and subject matter experts on the development and documentation of policies related to Workday business processes.
- Regularly assess the training and adjust accordingly.
- Deliver training to faculty, students and staff in advance of and during go-live.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years relevant experience, or equivalent education plus experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree may substitute for up to 2 years of experience.
- Experience in a Higher Education environment is preferred.
- Experience with the Workday Student Module is highly preferred.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills capable of maintaining collaborative relationships.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Workday Student is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (ie: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc) and G-Suite products.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Demonstrated proficiency with content management tools and video recording/editing software (ie: Camtasia, Panoto, Canva etc.).
Qualifications
- Strong attention to details in a fast-paced environment.
Skills
- Proficiency with Workday Student.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (ie: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc) and G-Suite products.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated proficiency with content management tools and video recording/editing software (ie: Camtasia, Panoto, Canva etc.).
Pay
$65,000 - $75,000 per year
Schedule
This is a full-time, term position that will conclude at the end of the project. This position is eligible to work remote, but will be expected to perform duties during Hamilton’s scheduled business hours of Monday - Friday, 8:30-4:30 EST, and will require occasional travel to campus.
