Document Production Specialist
Responsibilities
- Reports for their shift in the office or remotely, if applicable, in a reliable and punctual manner
- Works as part of a team to meet the word processing requirements of the Firm
- Aids in the document production needs for the Firm; types, revises, and corrects all types of complex documents using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation functions
- Utilizes all functions of Microsoft Word, including but not limited to automatic numbering and tables of authority, and has an in-depth knowledge of software programs supporting document production needs of the attorneys
- Maintains accurate production statistics through timely documentation of information into the appropriate tracking logs
- Receives documents submitted and confirms all necessary information to process the work as needed
- Works one-on-one with attorneys for special projects that require special or specific instruction
- Handles administrative assignments providing direct administrative support for attorneys, including all document processing requirements, such as closing sets, signature packets, and any other production requirements
- Attends scheduled training sessions and incorporates skills in daily work
- Proofreads material for grammatical, typographical, or spelling errors
- Organizes and prioritizes numerous tasks and completes them under time constraints
- Communicates and follows instructions effectively from a variety of clients, attorneys, and staff
- Affords assistance in any other area of the Firm as assigned
- Delivers completed work to appropriate author, as requested
Requirements
- High school diploma
- Excellent typing skills (65+ wpm), spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Five (5) years office experience
- High degree of organization; knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Committed to following all Firm security protocols and maintaining information security

Pay
The expected salary range for this Chicago position is between $79,000 and $82,000.

About the Role
Chapman and Cutler LLP is seeking to hire a Document Production Specialist to join our Chicago office. The Document Production Specialist is responsible for producing high-quality documents in a timely manner, utilizing word processing systems efficiently, and assisting with all the Firm’s word processing production, spreadsheet, presentation, and conversion requirements. The role also includes working autonomously on one-on-one assignments as necessary and assuming some administrative functions for attorneys. The position requires an in-office presence but includes flexibility for some remote work.
