Nature of Duties & Responsibilities
- Engineering Change Management: Lead the coordination and processing of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), and Deviations. Ensure all stakeholders review and approve changes prior to implementation on the production floor.
- Master Document Control: Maintain a centralized electronic and physical repository for engineering drawings, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs). Rigorously manage the Obsolescence Process to ensure outdated revisions are purged from all production areas.
- Redline & Revision Tracking: Manage the "Redline" workflow, ensuring that manual shop-floor corrections are captured, digitized, and routed to Engineering for formal revision updates to prevent tribal knowledge loss.
- Production Support & Traveler Integrity: Assemble and verify complete production "travelers" or work order packages. Ensure that every package contains the latest revision drawings, specialized work instructions, and necessary quality sign-off sheets before release to the floor.
- Traceability & Certification: Collect, verify, and archive material test reports, certificates of compliance (CoC), and final assembly test records. Maintain the Device History Record (DHR) to ensure full component-level traceability.
- Supplier Data Coordination: Manage the secure distribution of technical data packages to external vendors and sub-contractors, ensuring that outsourced components are manufactured to the correct revision levels.
- Quality System Compliance: Serve as a key Subject Matter Expert (SME) during internal and external audits (ISO 9001, AS9100). Retrieve requested records and demonstrate the effectiveness of document control protocols.
- Database Administration: Maintain the integrity of the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, ensuring that digital records accurately reflect the physical documentation.
- Training Record Maintenance: Assist the Quality department in tracking employee training signatures to ensure all personnel are certified to the latest revisions of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) they utilize.
Education and Experience
- Required: High school diploma;
- Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline.
- Experience: 4–6 years of related experience in document control within a high-reliability manufacturing environment.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in Windows applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Advanced experience with ERP (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and PLM (e.g., Agile, Windchill) software is highly preferred.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and writing skills; ability to communicate effectively with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams.
- Core Competencies: Extreme attention to detail, ability to work independently, and a proven track record of managing high-volume data with 100% accuracy.
- Physical/Compliance: Ability to perform scanning, filing, and occasional light lifting of document archives.
