Responsibilities

  • Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, or delivery vehicles or containers by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
  • Operate hand and power tools when needed to support outbound blocking and bracing to load out containers.
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
  • Control and maintain all records required for accurate, on-time completion of shipments.
  • Work in a team environment to accomplish work assignments.
  • Periodically use computers, email, scanners, and the warehouse management system (WMS) to track inventory, create paperwork, or document reporting.
  • Support and promote company core values.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 0-2 years of experience.
  • Skills and abilities required: Attention to detail and good follow-up skills; Ability to read and interpret general business documents; Ability to write routine reports and general business correspondence; Ability to work with peers and communicate basic concepts; Ability to solve practical problems through standardized solutions that require limited judgment; Ability to follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve routine problems; Good judgment; Ability to work independently or in a team setting, in a fast-paced environment; Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel, as well as Internet, web-based, and job-specific software applications, such as the WMS; Ability to type and update computer systems quickly and accurately; Proven competence to communicate clearly and persuasively with all levels of an organization; Team player with a high level of energy and self-motivation; Excellent spelling, grammar, and written/oral communication skills; Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects and set priorities; Must be mentally and emotionally capable of handling a high-stress environment; Experience working in Freight Forwarding or Transportation industry preferred; Previous general maintenance experience preferred using power tools, nail guns, and saws while adhering to safety procedures; Must be able to use hand tools and test equipment, following all required safety procedures; Ability to interpret work orders and technical manuals; Must possess mechanical ability and stamina to work with power tools; Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check; Must be eligible to work in the United States. At this time, EFW will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
