About the role
Roadtex Transportation is a leader in the nationwide LTL industry, specializing in transporting time and temperature-sensitive products. We handle refrigerated and LTL needs through our nationwide network of 32 strategically placed temperature-controlled facilities, state-of-the-art tracking, and specialized equipment and warehousing capabilities. As a forklift driver, you must be familiar with the forklift's controls and capabilities, demonstrate strong attention to detail, work independently or as part of a team, and possess good communication skills. Physical strength and stamina may be required, as the job involves lifting and moving heavy materials and goods.
Responsibilities
- Inspect the forklift before use to ensure it is in proper working condition.
- Load and unload materials and goods onto and off trucks, trailers, or storage areas using the forklift.
- Maintain inventory records and report any discrepancies to management.
- Operate the forklift in a safe and responsible manner at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
- Report any forklift malfunctions or maintenance needs to management.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed.
Requirements
- At least 3 months of forklift experience and/or using warehouse distribution equipment.
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to successfully pass internal Forklift Certification Training and demonstrate safety procedures.
- Able to perform job tasks in sometimes dusty, hot, and/or cold working conditions.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to speak or hear.
- Frequently stand on your feet.
- Regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift up to 65 lbs with team lifting or provided equipment.
- Perform physical activities requiring considerable use of arms, legs, and your whole body, including bending, crouching, climbing (using steps and ladders), pushing, pulling, stooping, and reaching.
