About the role
Kent Daniels & Associates is seeking a Docket Coordinator to join our dynamic law firm client. This role is responsible for executing a wide range of docketing functions in the Risk Management group, including tracking critical deadlines and dates for all matters.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the docketing database/calendar of cases for litigation and other deadlines.
- Create docketing profiles to support workflow processes; manage/review records and enter schedules or deadlines into the calendar.
- Review state and federal court rules, research specific judges' preferences and standards for date calculations, and distribute information to requestors.
- Perform date calculations, apply jurisdictional rules, and generate reports detailing appointments/deadlines.
- Proofread for quality, generate and distribute docket reports in accordance with the reporting schedule.
- Review previous litigation cases in the database for accuracy, enter new cases, and clean up the database for completed matters.
- Ensure retention of source documents/docket confirmation and recognize conflicting data prior to entry.
- Provide recommendations to continually improve the department.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in a law firm setting.
- Working knowledge of federal and state court rules, courts' structures, procedural legal research, and litigation support.
- Familiarity with researching multiple jurisdiction rules.
- Litigation calendar software and PACER/ECF filings knowledge.
- Knowledge of iManage and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Excellent attention to detail, strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask to manage time efficiently.
- Exercise overall judgement and confidentiality, and seek guidance when appropriate.
- Ability to interact and work harmoniously and effectively with all levels.
- Demonstrable experience with financial databases and applications.
Pay
$60,000 to $75,000 annually
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm
