Dock Coordinator

SUMMARY

The Dock Coordinator is responsible for the proper receiving, storing, and shipping of all incoming freight and data entry transactions, including but not limited to:

• Developing operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
• Receiving and processing all incoming freight, examining freight for damage, maintaining inventory management, cycle counts, inventory accuracy, and placing freight in proper location.
• Cooking the movement of trucks in the yard, performing yard and dock checks, picking and preparing materials for shipment, inspecting and maintaining physical condition of warehouse and equipment, preparing work orders for repairs, requisitions for replacement of equipment, directing salvage of damaged unused material, supporting and complying with all company policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and healthy workplace, participating in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities, ensuring the OS&D quarantine area is organized and documented, ensuring all OS&D situations are handled properly (pictures, ProTrack entry, and damage process documented), ensuring all material handlers have assignments and the appropriate tools to do their job, identifying and implementing continual improvement initiatives to enhance the performance of the position, team, and company.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; assisting the Team Leader or Transportation Manager in addressing complaints and resolving problems.
