Job Responsibilities
- Oversight of dock activities to ensure appropriate people and materials are entering and exiting the space.
- Assistance with unpacking shipments.
- Disposal of packing waste.
- Moving material to staging area.
- Recording receipt of deliveries, understanding that General Manager (GM) will be responsible for official loading into the Asset Database.
- Recording pick-up of shipments.
- Ensuring the dock area is clean and free of clutter.
- Aiding in IT asset coordination.
- Lights cleaning of dock areas.
- Aiding in minor maintenance tasks.
- Updating maintenance parts inventory.
- Updating daily inventory logs as merchandise arrives or leaves the GM campus.
- Scheduling shipments with non-GM vendors/suppliers (e.g., Diversified, Schneider Electric, Granger).
- Providing inventory status and availability of requested materials to GM Milford, GM Pontiac-Warehouse Management.
- Creating all necessary shipping documents (Bill of Lading, GM Shippers, international paperwork for shipments to GM Oshawa).
- Ensuring safety and proper packing of departing GM material.
- Managing GM contracted workers (Diversified Inc, Superior Electric, Granger) - coordinating the storing of GM property to its right place, ensuring workers follow standard safety protocols.
- Coordinating the storing of GM property to its right place for contracted technicians (Dell, HP).
- Notifying project managers when material/shipments arrive, providing direction to their team members on where and how the material should be stored.
- Supervising GM contracted technicians (Dell, HP) - giving instructions on where and how removed hardware from IT Quads should be stored.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience.
- Strong general knowledge of facilities maintenance.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Customer service-oriented mindset.
- Understanding of facility maintenance activities.
- Ability to handle multi-tasking.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office.
- Flexibility to work overtime, nights, and/or weekends as required.
- Comprehension of common predictive and preventative maintenance techniques.
