DME Driver Service Technician - Full Time

About the Role

This position is responsible for sales, servicing, and education of equipment to ensure safe delivery, setup, and use. The role maintains the quality provider image for the company and community.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (required)
• 1 year of experience in a customer service-related position (required)
• 1 year of delivery experience in the medical field (preferred)
• Successful completion of factory training seminar for home medical equipment (preferred)
• Louisiana driver’s license with acceptable driving record (required)

Skills

• Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval
• Proficiency with Windows-style applications, keyboard, and role-specific software programs
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally
• Strong interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Manages territory to reach service goals and delivery of equipment and oxygen in accordance with industry standards and governmental regulations
• Delivers and sets up required equipment in the customer’s residence
• Completes written client visit reports following setup and follow-up visits
• Performs routine preventive maintenance and simple repairs on equipment
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy, method of introduction, and communication style
• Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, or regulatory requirements
• Complies with Ochsner Health System Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct
• Other duties as assigned

Physical and Environmental Demands

• Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 25 to 50 pounds frequently, and 10 to 20 pounds constantly
• Routinely requires exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue
• Works in patient care areas, directly with patients, or with specimens that could contain communicable diseases
• Occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases
