DLO Night Shift Specimen Prep Tech I

About the role

Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO) in Oklahoma City, OK. Hours: Monday‑Friday 8:30 pm – 5:30 am.

Responsibilities

• Report to work on time and prepared for each scheduled shift
• Perform all assigned duties and processes, including tasks for which you are fully qualified and those within your demonstrated capabilities
• Maintain a positive, professional, and supportive attitude throughout the workday
• Work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to a respectful, productive work environment
• Process orders into the local information system (LIS)
• Presort, pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory
• Centrifugation and aliquoting of specimens
• Ensure all functions are performed with confidence, accuracy, and in a timely manner
• Demonstrate good organization skills and ability to learn and understand specimen types related to client‑ordered tests
• Learn and understand compliance regulations related to test ordering, which may change daily
• Exhibit flexibility to adapt to changing demands and occasional overtime

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of computers; preferred knowledge of laboratory testing and/or specimen processing
• Ability to type 40‑45 WPM expected
• Handles multiple tasks simultaneously and works in a production environment
• No experience required; previous laboratory experience preferred
• Willingness to work extra days/shifts as dictated by business need
• Ability to work in a biohazard environment, practicing good safety habits
• Able to sit or stand for long periods

Schedule

Monday‑Friday, 8:30 pm – 5:30 am (night shift). Overtime may be required based on staffing needs.
