DJ Accompanist Senior

About the role

The ASU School of Music, Dance and Theatre is seeking a part-time (50 percent) staff member to serve as a DJ accompanist for dance classes. This role requires strong repertoire knowledge, improvisational skills, the ability to adapt musical styles to match the needs of various dance techniques, and sensitivity to the artistic direction of instructors. The position works closely with the Instructional Specialist Sr and occasionally with the Production Manager of the dance department.

Responsibilities

• Prepare music that aligns with instructional goals for dance classes
• Contribute to a positive learning environment
• Participate in departmental events as needed
• Assist and collaborate closely with the Instructional Specialist Sr
• Occasionally assist the Production Manager of the dance department

Requirements

• Strong repertoire knowledge across musical styles
• Improvisational skills

Pay

$20.38 – $22.00 per hour, depending on experience within the posted range.

Schedule

Part-time, 50 percent FTE.
