About the Role
The Divisional Controller - Americas will be a key member of the executive leadership team in the Americas, reporting directly to the Americas President with a dotted line to the Divisional CFO. This role leads the business unit for the Americas, driving day-to-day accounting, controllership, and financial reporting. As a business partner to the Americas President and divisional leadership, the role involves strategy, M&A, integration support, and driving strategic business growth. Future growth opportunities are available within the division and at the group level.
Responsibilities
- Lead and serve as the Head of Finance and Controllership for the Americas region.
- Provide executive leadership in evaluating short- and long-term strategic financial objectives and recommend enhancements to financial performance and business opportunities.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support the business through strategic guidance and value creation.
- Lead FP&A business partnering, including reporting and planning (AOP and STRAP) for the region.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and consistent financial reporting, including full monthly, quarterly, and annual closing.
- Report to executive management on customer profitability and performance analysis, including variance vs. budget.
- Actively participate in Executive Management Team meetings, providing financial updates and insights.
- Develop financial strategies to support growth for the Americas region.
- Ensure process improvements and controls, managing standard costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variance analysis.
- Review business performance and results vs. variances to budget, reforecasting as needed.
- Ensure accurate US GAAP accounting and compliance with corporate policies.
- Prepare the annual 3-year and 5-year business plan.
- Ensure timely completion of all tax and compliance activities, manage cash flow, banking relationships, and liquidity.
- Evaluate and develop a strong accounting and finance team, driving performance and skill growth.
- Travel 25-35% as needed within the Americas region.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar (required). CPA or CMA preferred.
- MBA preferred.
- 15 years of experience in FP&A, Manufacturing Finance, or Controllership-related roles.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a finance/controllership leadership role within a manufacturing organization.
- Proven ability to work with various departments (sales, finance, accounting, HR, engineering, manufacturing, etc.).
- Track record of developing and implementing operational improvements to increase revenues, decrease costs, and improve cash flow.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, business intelligence systems, and ERP software.
- Strong business acumen and team-player mentality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong work ethic, high attention to detail, and a passion for driving positive company culture.
