DIVISION MANAGER - EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES
About the role
The Fresno County Department of Public Health seeks a Division Manager - Emergency Medical Services. The incumbent is responsible for developing, implementing, planning, evaluating, and coordinating a four-county (Fresno, Madera, Kings, Tulare) regional emergency medical services system through collaboration with health departments, hospitals, and providers.

Incumbents are responsible for ensuring high-quality, efficient pre-hospital care, disaster preparedness, and system-wide, data-driven improvements. They collaborate with health departments, hospitals, and providers to achieve these goals.
Requirements
Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Business or Public Administration, Public Health, Health Education, or Environmental Science.
Experience: Six (6) years of full-time, paid work experience administering, coordinating, and evaluating emergency medical services programs, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.
Substitution: Possession of a master’s degree may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
Qualifications
License: Possession of a valid Class “C” driver's license, or equivalent. Possession of a valid Paramedic License issued by the State of California, Emergency Medical Services Authority, or valid Registered Nurse License issued by the State of California, Department of Consumer Affairs, Board of Registered Nursing, may be required.

Selection Process
Successful candidates will be placed on an employment list effective for a minimum of 3 months and certified in final rank order as vacancies occur. The eligible list may be extended up to 12 months and used to fill both extra-help and permanently allocated positions. Individuals selected for extra-help appointment may be transitioned to a permanently allocated position at a later date as authorized by the Fresno County Personnel Rules.
