Division Director (Water Resources - Engineering & Construction)

About the role

The Engineering & Construction group is responsible for the execution of all capital projects related to water production, wastewater treatment, water distribution, wastewater collection and stormwater conveyance. GC Water Resources’ total 6-year Capital Improvement Program exceeds $1 billion for both vertical (facility) and linear construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Maintain excellent partnerships and positive communication with internal and external customers, including contractors and vendors.
• Manage a 50+ person team of engineers, construction managers, and inspectors who ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Prepare bid documents and deliver successful capital improvement projects.
• Financial planning and monitoring scope, schedule, and budget for projects.
• Maintain appropriate workloads and project assignments for team members.
• Communicate effectively with the public, including conducting public outreach before and during project implementation, and providing effective, timely responses to community questions and concerns.
• Problem solving and negotiating skills.

Requirements

• Prioritizing experience related to the area of assignment, including two years' experience as a manager.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
• A Professional Engineer (PE) License.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related field.

Skills

• Engineering design and construction management of municipal projects.
• Experience managing a diverse team.
• Previous experience working with Departments of Transportation or Public Works.
