About the Role

We're seeking a sharp, hands-on Controller to own financial reporting and accounting operations at our Medford manufacturing facility. This high-impact role sits at the intersection of finance and operations—you'll be a true business partner to leadership, turning complex financial data into clear decisions while building strong teams and tighter controls.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the monthly and period-end close process end-to-end—journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and operating statistical reports—with precision and on deadline.
  • Serve as a strategic business partner to Operations and Sales leadership, delivering financial analysis and actionable insights to improve efficiency, support pricing decisions, and advance financial objectives.
  • Develop and maintain robust standard cost models, conduct variance analysis, and produce reporting to inform profitability, production decisions, and long-range planning.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes, internal controls, and procedures, with a focus on purchase activity, production usage, manufacturing costs, and inventory management.
  • Collaborate on annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial plans; prepare insightful analysis to guide resource allocation and track performance against targets.
  • Ensure compliance and audit readiness by preparing year-end audit work papers, supporting external auditors, and completing tax returns and regulatory filings on time.
  • Monitor and report key operating metrics, oversee monthly physical inventories, and enforce procedural compliance across the operation.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing accounting team while fostering a collaborative culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with meaningful exposure to manufacturing cost accounting.
  • Demonstrated strength in financial close processes, product costing, and variance analysis.
  • Solid command of internal controls and GAAP.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate numbers into business narratives.
  • Strong communicator who can engage credibly with both finance and non-finance audiences.
  • Experience leading or mentoring accounting staff.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.

Why This Role

This is not a back-office position. You'll have real visibility, influence, and a seat at the table in a stable, growing manufacturing business. You'll inherit a solid foundation with genuine room to build—improving systems, developing talent, and making your mark on the financial operations of a facility that produces tangible results.

This position is on-site in Medford, Oregon. Candidates must be able to work from the facility full-time.
