Division Chief - Pediatric Developmental Medicine | Penn State Health Children's Hospital

Penn State Health Golisano Children’s Hospital and Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center are recruiting a Division Chief in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics.

About the Role

The Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics Division provides comprehensive multidisciplinary evaluations for children with suspected autism, ADHD, learning disorders, and other developmental impairments. Current special interests include psychopharmacology for aggression treatment, the use of medical marijuana for aggressive behavior in older adolescents with autism, assessment of speech apraxia and other complex speech disorders, as well as evaluation of reading disorders, including dyslexia.

Join a team of two Developmental Behavioral Pediatricians (one full-time, one part-time), two locum tenens Developmental Behavioral Pediatricians, a Nurse Practitioner, a Speech Therapist (specializes in speech apraxia), two Education Specialists (one full-time, one half-time), a nurse coordinator, and a Neuropsychologist. This role offers a high-quality academic and clinical program with academic appointments at the Associate or full Professor rank based on qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in the Division of Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics within an academic healthcare environment.
• Deliver comprehensive multidisciplinary evaluations for children with developmental and behavioral concerns.
• Engage in patient care, medical student and resident education, and research/scholarly activity.

Requirements

• Medical degree – MD, DO, or foreign equivalent.
• Fellowship trained, board-certified/board-eligible (BC/BE) in Pediatrics with fellowship training in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics.
• BC/BE in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics.
• Minimum of 5 years of Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics experience.
• Eligible for the rank of Associate Professor or higher.
• Proven leadership experience in an academic healthcare environment.
• A strong commitment to patient care, education, and research/scholarly activity.
