About the Role
Responsible for the development and execution of strategic marketing plans to support the division’s business plan. Provide direction and recommendations based on factual data relating to products, advertising, markets, pricing, strategic planning, acquisitions, etc. Broad responsibility and leadership for all division marketing, sales, and customer service functions. Supervises division sales and marketing team. The Division Development Manager is part of the staff leadership team that shares responsibility to achieve the annual divisional goals assigned by the Division General Manager.
Responsibilities
- Meet division’s profitable growth goals.
- Work directly with division staff and cross-functional resources to ensure alignment between growth strategies and operational excellence.
- Serve as business development (BD) liaison between division, Key/Strategic Account Managers, aerospace group BD leadership, and other division’s BD representatives.
- Establish realistic goals to capture market share in targeted markets.
- Establish timeline and goals for achieving the Marketing Plan.
- Identify technology, growth trends, global competitive factors, and forecasts in market segments.
- Identify and develop new products and opportunities for existing products to meet targeted growth plans in conjunction with engineering and operations.
- Coordinate development and implementation of product commercialization, including promotional programs, training programs for field and inside sales, and distribution networks.
- Create marketing programs and evaluate market reactions to advertising programs, merchandising policy, and product packaging and formulation to ensure timely adjustment of marketing strategy and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
- Communicate with customers and develop strategies and programs to satisfy both internal and customer requirements.
- Recommend changes in basic structure and organization of marketing group to ensure effective fulfillment of objectives assigned to it and provide flexibility to move swiftly in relation to marketing opportunities.
- Manage, train, and develop team members and evaluate work performance. Apply performance management and leadership techniques to assure positive employee relations.
- Responsible for managing department budgets to ensure objectives are achieved.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Division General Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering is required. MBA is preferred.
- Seven to 10 years of experience in sales, marketing, or technical field requiring frequent customer interaction; 3 to 5 years of the above experience in supervision of professional sales and marketing team members.
- Experience within an aerospace manufacturing organization is highly preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and written/verbal communication skills. Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Extremely articulate communication skills (written and verbal); able to deal with upset customers or difficult situations; able to coordinate and collaborate across functions; able to work with customers; able to present to all levels of an organization and executive leadership.
- PC literate (MS Office, Salesforce CRM, Power BI, and Outlook preferred).
- Ability to manage customer complaints to prevent issues from escalating.
- Domestic and foreign travel as needed.
