Districtwide Resource LPN and OOD G-Tube

About the role

The Districtwide Resource LPN and OOD G-Tube Services Nurse position is responsible for providing direct patient care to students with special health needs within the Holyoke Public Schools district. This role requires a strong background in nursing, particularly in managing complex medical conditions such as gastrostomy tubes.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to students requiring specialized health services.
• Assess and document students' health status and progress.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding student health care.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in pediatric nursing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Current RN license in Massachusetts.
• Experience in working with students with special health needs.
• Knowledge of pediatric nursing practices and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in a clinical setting.
• Experience with gastrostomy tube management.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with some evening and weekend availability as needed.
