Position Summary
Performs duties necessary to provide care for injured athletes; provides preventive therapeutic services; coordinates physical examinations; maintains appropriate patient records; manages training room.
Primary Duties Performed
- Provides care for injured athletes: provides emergency care; provides timely evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services, under a physician's standing orders, to ensure maximum safety and timely recovery; attends varsity contests at home and away.
- Provides preventive therapeutic services: develops programs to reduce the frequency and extent of injuries; develops off-season conditioning programs for athletes and coaches to provide maximum individual development.
- Captors physical examinations of varsity athletes according to established requirements for participation.
- Maintains appropriate patient records: maintains patient files, treatment records, physical exams, insurance data, waivers, injury reports.
- Manages training room: develops operating procedures, organizes equipment and supplies, recommends purchases.
- Manages use of exercise and rehabilitative equipment, drives van.
Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Certification by National Athletic Trainers Association
- Registration by the Missouri Athletic Trainers Advisory Committee
- First Aid Instructor’s Certificate
- CPR Instructor’s Certificate
- Over one (1) year of relevant full-time experience
