Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking an experienced District Team Leader to provide leadership for multiple Early Learning Centers and Before & After School Enrichment (BASE) programs. In this role, you'll coach and develop leaders, strengthen program quality, build partnerships with schools and families, and ensure every child receives a safe, engaging, high-quality experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support multiple Early Learning Center and/or BASE program locations, ensuring exceptional experiences for children and families
- Coach, mentor, and develop Site Leaders and Program Directors through regular communication, accountability, and professional development
- Foster a positive, inclusive culture that supports staff engagement, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
- Ensure programs consistently meet YMCA quality standards, curriculum expectations, licensing requirements, and operational procedures
- Oversee financial performance, enrollment growth, and resource management across assigned locations
- Build strong partnerships with school administrators, families, licensing agencies, and community organizations
- Lead hiring, onboarding, scheduling, coaching, recognition, and performance management for district staff
- Monitor program quality and family satisfaction, using feedback and data to continuously improve the participant experience
- Champion child safety by ensuring compliance with all child protection, health, safety, and risk management practices
- Promote YMCA childcare programs while identifying opportunities for continued growth throughout the district
Requirements
- Master's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two or more years of multi-site or multi-unit leadership experience
- Experience managing budgets and profit & loss responsibilities
- Knowledge of childcare licensing regulations preferred
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and leadership skills
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
