About the role
The role of the District Sales Manager is to lead the sales and marketing efforts for The Nucor Plate Group in the Inter-Mountain (SLC) territory in support of taking care of our customers. This position will require extensive travel. Must be willing to relocate. The successful candidate will be responsible for quoting and securing business: spot and contract, providing forecasts, and recommending new business and customers. Supporting the Plate Group and Nucor Enterprise’s strategic growth initiatives are essential.
Responsibilities
- Lead sales and marketing efforts for The Nucor Plate Group in the Inter-Mountain (SLC) territory.
- Secure business through quoting and contracts.
- Provide forecasts and recommend new business and customers.
- Support strategic growth initiatives for the Plate Group and Nucor Enterprise.
Requirements
- Four-year Business Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Willingness to travel extensively and relocate to the Inter-Mountain (SLC) territory.
- Four years of steel sales experience or qualified DDSM candidate.
- Demonstrated track record of growing new business, prospecting, developing, and closing accounts.
Qualifications
- Masters’s degree in a Business-related field (preferred).
- Steel plate sales experience (preferred).
- Working knowledge of the Inter-Mountain / Western steel market and its end-user base (fabricators, OEMs, service centers) (preferred).
Skills
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of industry trends and market analysis.
