District Sales Manager
About the role
As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward-thinking, open-minded, and well-rounded individuals to join our global team as a District Sales Manager. You will be working remotely out of your home office and responsible for traveling to and selling Gates products throughout the assigned territory: Baltimore, Maryland; Delaware; and Northern Virginia. Your goals will include meeting or exceeding an annual sales quota and achieving specific strategic initiatives that align with higher-level organizational goals.
You'll use a consultative selling approach, your technical expertise, and ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with both distributors and end users. You will research customer needs, understand their applications, and apply the proper Gates technologies to improve their overall cost of ownership and productivity. You'll collaborate with an amazing group of individuals at Gates across all business functions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute growth strategies for both existing accounts and new prospective customers.
- Accelerate growth of new Gates products and solutions.
- Pursue opportunities to expand our business in new markets.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments within our target markets.
- Make regular sales calls to pursue and discuss opportunities, provide training and other technical support, and increase overall mind share.
- Follow up on leads (both self-generated and provided through marketing initiatives).
- Utilize our CRM systems in a timely and accurate manner.
- Develop and maintain short, mid, and long-term sales plans.
- Communicate high-value sales activity to contribute to effective product and service planning.
- Provide top-quality, Gates customer service for all clients and prospects.
- Monitor and communicate competitive activities to identify opportunities and/or countermeasures.
Requirements
- 3 years of progressive sales experience or equivalent industry knowledge.
- High school degree or equivalent work experience is required; college degree in a business or engineering field is preferred.
- Experience in selling Fluid Power and/or Power Transmission products is highly preferred.
- Firm understanding of the MRO business is preferred.
- CRM experience is preferred.
- Must be proficient with the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to drive long distances for extended periods of time.
- Travel required for this position is 50-70%.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Pay
Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 + Sales Incentive Plan.
