KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create new business growth through generating leads, building relationships and prospecting in a large market with market share upside.
- Support complex sales by aligning customer needs with designed tailored solutions.
- Manage key accounts of mid-sized and large accounts with an opportunity for increased wallet share/product usage with existing customers.
- Remain informed about market trends, competitor offerings and industry developments.
- Thoroughly understand the products or services being sold to effectively answer customer questions and demonstrate value.
- Manage and maintain an existing account base and grow sales in other value-added manufactured products in the company's product offering including industrial market.
- Problem-solving, value-added selling process with focus on winning and retaining customers and repeat consumable business.
- Track all sales activities, generating reports and analyzing sales data.
- Negotiate and closes sales contracts and agreements to achieve sales targets.
- Strong customer emphasis on reducing total costs, improving production quality, and achieving Health, Safety and Environmental goals and objectives.
- Effectively communicate customer needs and requirements to all functional areas of the company to ensure that efforts are coordinated resulting in rapid organic sales growth.
- Effectively achieve individual and teams’ sales goals.
- Collaborate with the Research & Development (R&D) technical team to develop selling opportunities and account management.
- Travel to current and prospective customers to develop relationships and grow sales.
- Able to safely walk throughout large manufacturing and warehouse environments for extended periods, including navigating uneven surfaces, stairs, catwalks, and production areas.
- Able to enter active production environments and maintain awareness of moving equipment, forklifts, overhead hazards, and other industrial conditions.
- Able to comply with all customer and company safety policies, procedures, and site-specific requirements, including the proper use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, hearing protection, hard hats, and high-visibility clothing when required.
- Able to maintain the mobility and physical capability necessary to perform site inspections, customer walkthroughs, and product demonstrations in a safe manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of sales experience in industrial or chemical preferred.
- Proven effectiveness in identifying leads, prospecting, closing new projects, and delivering effective/persuasive presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage long-term customer relationships while enhancing a value proposition of existing products.
- High achievement orientation; driven to perform and grow.
- Effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong consultation, negotiation, problem-resolution, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
- Demonstrated sales and territory management skills.
- Able to perform up to 50% including overnight travel.
- Able to perform technical/mechanical on-site testing.
