District Safety Officer 2026-2027 Part Time
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide for the safety and security of students, personnel and property.
- Work closely with students and school administrators to support a safe environment.
- Establish good working relationships with Building Administrator, co-workers, custodian and faculty.
- Be familiar with the facilities in order to execute assigned duties in a professional and timely manner.
- Participate in arrival and dismissal process of students; may be required to assist with school functions.
- Continue to upgrade professional skills by attending workshops, seminars, staff meetings, etc. as scheduled by the Director of Safety and Security.
- Submit an Field Report to Director of Safety and Security and Building Administrator when warranted.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma is required.
- Experience in security industry is preferred.
- Ability and personality to work with students, colleagues, teachers, and other staff.
- Successful completion of a background check by Human Resources.
Riverview Gardens School District reports directly to the Director of Safety and Security. This position ensures an environment exists in schools that is both safe and conducive to learning and teaching. Essential duties include maintaining security, collaborating with students and administrators, and upgrading professional skills through training and workshops.

The position requires a high school diploma and experience in the security industry is preferred.
