District Retail Merchandiser

Job Summary

The District Retail Merchandiser coordinates various field projects such as new store sets, re-sets, and conversions to provide value-added services to customers within the assigned district. Pay for this role is $22-23 per hour, based on experience. This position includes a company car and gas card. Weekly travel is required.

Essential Job Functions

• Works with the District Manager to plan, schedule, and implement projects.
• Addresses and resolves issues promptly.
• Captures and coordinates the successful assembly of product displays according to plan-o-gram, new item placement, and merchandising systems at customer retail locations.
• Leads temporary employees and third-party merchandisers at customer locations.
• Maintains excellent customer relations at the store level.
• Serves as a backup to Territory Managers as needed.
• Submits required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
• Maintains required records and manages expenses within company budgets.
• Maintains a current knowledge of company products, field operations, and customer account specifications.
• Travels constantly within the district or region.
• Engages in frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, climbing, and lifting.
• Exposes workers to dust and occasionally dirty conditions.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years merchandising experience in a retail environment.

Competencies

• Strong organization, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with customers and handle public interactions tactfully.
• Able to travel 80-90% of the time when needed.
• Maintains a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
• Able to operate a motor vehicle safely and lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Frequent overnight travel may be required.
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Windows.
• Ability to work off plan-o-grams efficiently.
