District Merchandising Supervisor

About the role

This position is responsible for managing all operational and team member aspects of a traveling 7-person district Field Activity Support Team (FAST) whose duties include executing planograms and physical inventories, as well as providing support for merchandise and fixture assembly, and the maintenance of all signage. Primary duties include building the team, leading execution of company merchandising and inventory standards, and interacting with customers and team members, while providing legendary customer service. This position is also responsible for promoting a safe and productive work environment for all Team Members, customers, and vendors, as well as training Team Members on the appropriate application of policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts and have the ability to work varied hours, days, and nights as dictated by business needs.
• Uphold and promote a safe and productive work environment by following and enforcing policies and procedures.
• Build the district Field Activity Support Team (FAST).
• Create/manage the schedule and payroll management.
• Lead execution of Tractor Supply Company standards.
• Communicate proactively and regularly with the Regional FAST Manager on project status, obstacles to completion, and offer solutions to overcome.
• Support the District Manager in achieving overall merchandising goals for the District.

Requirements

• Experience: 5 years of retail and/or merchandising experience. 2 years of retail leadership and/or merchandising leadership experience is required. Profit/Loss, scheduling, shrink control, payroll management, staffing, hiring, supervising and counseling experience is required. Farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is strongly preferred.
• Education: High School diploma or the equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
• Any combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.
• Ability to be forklift certified.
