As a Facilities Manager, you will oversee all aspects of building functions and guarantee the safety and functionality of all facilities. This role involves running routine safety inspections, corresponding with service providers, planning maintenance work, maintaining records, and supervising facilities staff.

Responsibilities

  • Communication and management, including coaching, of facility resources and tools
  • Manage and operate facility systems
  • Serve as the key point of contact for facility-related questions
  • Conduct daily/weekly huddles and monthly 1-on-1s with the Facility team
  • Perform annual mid-year and end-year reviews with the Facility team
  • Set annual improvement objectives for the Facility team
  • Attend and actively participate in the monthly Service Management meeting
  • Manage implementation and maintenance of all applicable local compliance, laws, and regulations
  • Perform risk assessments of all facilities to identify hazards and mitigate risks to employees and visitors
  • Participate in the setup, development, and testing of the Business Continuity Plan (for technical installations)
  • Contribute to the execution of the District Tactical Business Plan
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously manage the Facility Business Plan, Service Provider, and/or maintenance contracts (including SLAs) to align with Expeditors’ vision, key performance indicators, and measures for success
  • Maintain and perform quarterly scheduled scorecard/SLA reviews of all critical areas of the relationship
  • Responsible for self-audits for facility maintenance and technical installations
  • Own, manage, and report on all Facility & Technical installation matters, including suppliers/sub-contractors, guarantees, maintenance programs, and costs with District, regional, and global teams, as well as governmental officials (when applicable)
  • Lead facility efforts to ensure excellence in the work environment, adhering to the local program (house rules)
  • Communicate, develop, and maintain the full execution of Expeditors District house rules
  • Keep the District Management Team updated on new developments, maintenance contracts, and suppliers
  • Conduct market research on service providers and new developments in relevant areas
  • Improve quality standards through continuous improvement methods
  • Ensure Service Providers maintain a proactive focus on innovation and drive for continuous improvements
  • Highlight the value of the relationship between the District and Service Providers (e.g., cost savings, standards improvement) and actively participate in appreciation events
  • Manage effective procurement of capacity and costs for the District (facility-related)
  • Provide assistance in the resolution of claims, disputes, credits, and collections
  • Perform all other activities as instructed by the direct Manager

Requirements

  • Four or more years of operational work experience with Expeditors
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Problem-solving and strategic planning abilities
  • English language proficiency

Skills

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of software development principles
  • Experience with automation platforms such as Power Automate
  • Experience with Microsoft Copilot and M365 technologies
  • Familiarity with data structures, APIs, integrations, and system architecture
  • Basic understanding of AI, machine learning, LLMs, and prompt engineering
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently

Job-Specific Competencies

  • District Facility Operations Expertise: Responsible for the overall execution of the maintenance program. Qualify, engage, develop, maintain, and manage Expeditors District activities with Facility & Technical Service Providers. Manage all aspects of Expeditors’ relationship with District Facility & Technical Service Providers to achieve optimum value and provide exceptional services. Participate in the execution of the Tactical Business Plan and drive continuous enhancements to meet high-quality standards and cost reductions.

Pay

Expected base salary: $70,304.00. Eligible for bonus.
