District Employees ONLY Custodian (Night Shift) - Peter Pendleton Elementary School
About the role
The position is available to current employees of Coachella Valley Unified School District. The district covers over 1,200 square miles of rural desert terrain, serving communities including Coachella, Thermal, Mecca, Oasis, Indio, and the Salton Sea. It operates fifteen elementary schools, three middle schools, three comprehensive high schools, one continuation high school, and one adult school.
Responsibilities
- Sweeps, scrubs, mops, waxes, and polishes floors.
- Vacuums rugs, carpets, and other areas as required.
- Dusts and polishes furniture, woodwork, and other surfaces.
- Empties, replaces liners, and cleans waste receptacles.
- Cleans restrooms to include sinks, toilets, mirrors, and other fixtures.
- Cleans windows, sills, and occasionally other furniture as required.
- Cleans other sinks, drinking fountains, and equipment as directed.
- Preserves equipment and materials through proper storage.
- Performs site deep cleaning during school vacation periods, including carpet and floor cleaning.
- Collects and disposes of trash and debris on the school grounds, ensuring the immediate exterior is kept clean.
- Refills paper towel, soap, and toilet paper dispensers as needed.
- Performs other related tasks to support school operations such as unloading pallets, setting up, and taking down tables, chairs, benches, or desks.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of work or volunteer experience in any field, preferably in an environment involving children.
- Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing: TB Test Clearance, Valid California Driver License, Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance, Successfully Pass District Assessment.
