About the role
The Controller at Sciens Building Solutions is a critical position responsible for financial and operational management. Reporting to the platform company CFO and the Division president, this role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and collaboration across all functional areas.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements financial and operational goals, policies, and procedures.
- Establishes and maintains sound internal financial management control systems.
- Prepares and reviews financial statements and operating reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Oversees and ensures timely and accurate processing of transactions and accounting data, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Manages various compliance requirements such as DOL, IRS, 401(k), and medical regulations.
- Led coordination with the CPA firm for external audit materials, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
- Manages annual audits and auditor relations, preparing monthly business review packages, and delivering monthly reporting packages to the platform CFO.
- Monitors and analyzes key financial and operational metrics, initiating strategies to enhance cash flow and working capital positions.
- Assesses organizational performance against budgets with functional leaders and management teams.
- Manages ongoing banking and bonding requirements.
- Leads ERP system deployment and operation.
- Ensures all employees embrace the safety culture and comply with safety initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA required; MBA desired.
- 5-10 years of experience as a Controller.
- Strong cost accounting skills, including standard costing processes and POC revenue recognition.
- Solid inventory management skills.
- Strong leadership qualities, including a proactive and passionate advocate for the business, a sense of urgency, strategic thinking, and effective communication.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and a commitment to excellence.

Pay
$140,000 - 160,000, depending on experience.
Schedule
Nightly travel may be required occasionally.
