Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Safely operate a mini excavator and other equipment for trenching electrical conduit and cable.
- Drive and transport equipment to and from job sites in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Inspect trucks and equipment before and after use; report maintenance or repair needs promptly.
- Aid with loading and unloading materials and equipment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and industry standards.
- Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications And Job Requirements
- Previous experience as an equipment operator (required).
- Class A CDL (required).
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and work in outdoor environments.
- Must pass background check, drug, and alcohol testing.
- Willingness to travel to various job sites and work extended hours as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Proficiency in operating mini excavators and related heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of trenching practices and underground utility installation.
- Ability to identify and address safety hazards promptly.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
Working Conditions
- Work performed outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and inclement weather.
- Exposure to electrical hazards, heavy equipment, and construction site conditions.
- Frequent travel to various job sites with occasional overnight stays.
- Work hours may vary depending on project requirements and emergency response situations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent bending, climbing, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in physically demanding environments and operating heavy equipment.
- Must be able to wear and operate all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
