Equipment Operator

About the role

The Equipment Operator position in the Street Department is responsible for operating various pieces of equipment to maintain streets, stormwater conveyance systems, and street signs.

Responsibilities

• Operates trucks to spread deicing materials and plow snow on streets
• Operates various pieces of specialty equipment related to municipal operations
• Performs street maintenance tasks such as repairing streets
• Maintains stormwater conveyance systems and street signs

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma or GED
• Valid PA Commercial Driver’s License, Class A, A combination, N endorsement tank vehicle with air brakes

Qualifications

• Residency can be anywhere in Mercer County and certain municipalities in Lawrence County and in Ohio

Skills

• Knowledge of municipal operations
• Ability to operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment

Pay

Starting hourly wage is $28.84, increasing to $31.09 after one year.

Schedule

Overtime and call-out provisions exceed FLSA standards.
