DISTRIBUTION TECHNICIAN I - 3rd Shift

About the role

MCCORMICK & COMPANY, INCORPORATED, a global leader in flavor, is seeking a Distribution Technician at its Regional Distribution Center in Byhalia, MS. The position reports to a Crew Lead.

Responsibilities

• Pick/pack/ships all customer orders in a timely manner (as measured through Labor Management System - LMS) and accurately
• Operates material handling equipment (transporter, forklift, etc.)
• Completes all paperwork & system transactions in accordance with standard departmental operating procedures
• Identifies and communicates issues to shift crew leader, warehouse supervisor, team manager
• Attends shift/team meetings and recommends general process improvements
• Performs general duties including sanitation and battery changing
• Fills 'shorted' orders, co-label order selection, export order selection, and assists with inventory
• Participates in Team meetings and completes special projects assigned

Requirements

• Operates transporter, stand-up, reach or sit-down fork truck
• Basic math, reading, and speaking skills
• GED
• Preferred: Forklift License, SAP Transactions/Process Training

Qualifications

• Two years in expanded role in Safety management, Efficiency management, Training management, or Quality management/ OR performs one additional activity group for a total of four of seven activity groups
• Experience using material handling equipment in a warehouse environment preferred
• Basic MS Windows experience preferred
