Distribution Tech - Per Diem (2026-0756)

About the role

Performs data entry, dispenses, checks par levels, breaks out stock, assembles and stores all commercial supplies. Assembles Surgical Case Carts. Performs assigned environmental maintenance. Picks up and prepares mailings, assists in copy center.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily par-level inventory of supplies.
• Assembles correct supplies in bins on delivery carts from designated pick list daily.
• Delivers and restocks supplies in assigned areas using correct stock rotation method.
• Constantly checks for outdates and replaces supplies when found.
• Assembles requested supplies for Surgery areas/case carts.
• Reconciles shelf discrepancies.
• Communicates in a positive and effective method with both internal and external customers.
• Delivers all STAT requests immediately with the correct requested supply.
• Responds to phone/printer orders delivering requested supplies within 15 minutes.
• Records all supplies sent or returned accurately on pre-issue or credits records.
• Performs correct data entry into the computer system for requested supplies/credits.
• Attaches correct patient charge labels to all required items.
• Assists in assigned area of Distribution department annual inventories/cycle counts.
• Assists with modifications or development in all supply and service areas when requested.
• Performs borrow/loan function as needed.
• Provides correct forms/supplies per physician requests for patient care.
• Provides service and information requests from physician/customers inquiries.
• Maintains supplies necessary for daily performance of duties.
• Maintains equipment on a daily basis and call for repairs as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School or GED diploma preferred.
• One year of experience in supply distribution preferred.
• Neat and well-groomed appearance.
• Able to communicate effectively in a diverse population.
• Proven history of good attendance.
• Proven history for performance aligned with the Valley Values.
• Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams with good problem solving, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to set priorities, produce accurate work and meet deadlines; ability to function in a setting with a wide variety of duties and numerous interruptions.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Requires repetitive lifting, pushing, and carrying, light supply loads 95% of shift assignment.
• Requires constant bending, twisting, and reaching above the head.
• Requires lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Requires standing and walking 95% of shift assignment.
• Requires hearing and vision correctable to normal range.
• Requires comprehension, reading, writing, recording, calculating, and communicating.
• Requires working in an environment of changing temperatures, noise levels and moving objects.
• Requires the ability to make pickups and deliveries outside Valley Medical Center.

Pay

Salary range: $25.79 - $41.08 per hour, depending on experience.
