About the Role

Our Supervisor will plan, direct, and monitor the day-to-day operational activities of a team to ensure a competitive service advantage through high accuracy and customer service. This position assists the facility in exceeding financial and strategic goals by actively participating on the leadership team and may contribute to the development and execution of business strategies for an effective distribution support team.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and supervise various distribution center tasks to ensure all goods and supplies are shipped, received, stored, and recorded accurately following established procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and optimize cost effectiveness.
  • Analyze warehouse metrics and prepare reports and inventory control documents using Microsoft Office and existing systems.
  • Supervise and lead a team.
  • Monitor and adjust employee schedules and workloads to enhance efficiencies and ensure high-priority tasks are achieved.
  • Participate in the hiring process and management of distribution center staff.
  • Ensure the highest level of customer service is executed and develop methods to improve service quality for employees, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Motivate and hold the team accountable for achieving local and company goals.
  • Maintain a culture of safety that follows the organization's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) policies to identify and mitigate risks in the workplace.
  • Instruct the team in safe working methods and escalate serious issues as appropriate.
  • Prioritize workflow and ensure work is completed to required standards and regulatory codes of productivity, quality, and timeliness.
  • Use performance management systems to improve personal performance.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of successful supervisory/management experience to motivate and develop direct reports, as well as assess new talent.
  • High School Diploma/GED; Associate/Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • PC proficiency in Windows-based software programs; familiarity with mid-range, mainframe systems, and Warehouse Management System (WMS) is a plus.
  • Experience and thorough understanding of warehouse, delivery, traffic operations, and systems within a distribution setting, as well as government regulations (e.g., DOT, OSHA, HazMat).
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, including performance management (employee evaluations, discipline, corrective action, coaching) and conducting interviews.
  • Ability to motivate a team, manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the workplace environment.

Working Conditions

  • Regularly work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse with exposure to cold, heat, damp, or humid conditions.
  • Exposure to loud noise, dust, mechanical hazards, moving objects, and moving vehicles.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, twist, and carry up to 50-75 pounds; manipulate (push and pull) up to 160 pounds of product with material handling equipment and skids weighing up to 2,000 pounds using a pallet jack.
  • Walking/Standing: Walk throughout the warehouse to complete customer orders; stand when operating order picker, reach truck equipment, or a cutter.
  • Sitting: Sit only when driving sit-down material handling equipment.
  • Lifting: Lift items weighing from a few ounces up to 150 pounds with assistance.
  • Stooping: Bend at the waist when filling orders or putting away products assigned to floor-level locations.
  • Kneeling: Kneel when filling orders or putting away products assigned to floor-level locations.
