Distribution Supervisor

About the role
Are you an operational problem-solver who thrives on keeping logistics moving safely and efficiently? As our Route Operations & Dispatch Specialist, you will serve as the operational backbone of our distribution branch. Partnering directly with the Branch Manager, you will lead daily route planning, driver coaching, and order processing to ensure our delivery drivers stay safe, fully supported, and on time.
Responsibilities
- Dynamic Dispatch & Routing: Pull daily customer orders and build efficient, cost-effective delivery routes while creating accurate load sheets for warehouse teams.
- Safety & Compliance Leadership: Drive compliance across Department of Transportation (DOT) documentation, lead monthly driver ride-alongs, and reinforce defensive driving (Smith System) standards to maintain a zero-preventable-accident workplace.
- Driver Coaching & Support: Act as the first line of operational support for delivery drivers, resolving real-time route challenges and fostering a collaborative team culture.
- Order & Inventory Tracking: Process order tickets, manage asset tracking (cylinder tracking), and handle special delivery requests within our system.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with warehouse, production, and leadership teams to streamline order fulfillment and maximize delivery efficiency.
Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent preferred, with two to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2–3 years in a related field, specifically including dispatch operations and direct supervisory/leadership roles.
- Ability to read and interpret critical documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Qualifications
- At least two years of experience working in a distribution logistics environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with FMCSA/DOT rules and regulations.
- Proficiency in Google Suite & SAP preferred.

Pay
Compensation Range: $75,000 to $85,000 annually.
