Distribution Project Planner 2

Overview

The Distribution Project Planner at E2 Consulting Engineers, Inc. will assist in developing strategic project plans to help the company meet its goals. The role involves visiting work sites to gather information, assisting with the determination of project scope, preparing service orders, field memos, and construction work orders, and providing expertise in design and engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Visit work sites to collect information and assist with determination of scope to enable designs of moderate to high complexity for additions and modifications to Company gas and/or electric facilities from onset through completion of project.
• Meet with customers to identify specific design limitations and customer requests.
• Prepare service orders, field memos, and moderate construction work orders with safe, reliable, and cost-effective designs that conform to Company policies, safety orders, and CPUC regulations.
• Interpret and apply design and engineering principals, overhead, underground, distribution, CPUC Rules, gas and electric theory, standard practices, and construction calculations.
• Identify site-specific obstacles, relay this information to customers, and present design options for consideration.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma.
• 4+ years of experience working on utility distribution system projects.
• Qualified Designer (Overhead, Underground, or Gas).
• Communicate effectively with other project team members in the development of a compliant design according to appropriate standards.
• Able to substitute in project meetings and communicate effectively with regards to the design.
• Manage design files and organize design comments and iterations.

Pay and Schedule

• Pay range for this position is $40 - $50/hr.
• The starting rate will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.

This position will require travel to the client location in San Diego. Local candidates only.
