About the role

The Plant Manager will manage and provide day-to-day leadership for all Distribution Center operational functions, including receiving, order fulfillment, inventory control, replenishment, and shipping of pharmaceutical product. This position is accountable for timely completion of product receipts, management of storage locations, and inventory accuracy. The role includes direct management of exempt and non-exempt employees and oversight of building maintenance and security.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with SOPs across all operational areas.
  • Achieve operational excellence by managing accuracy, efficiency, and production targets.
  • Create, track, and understand P&L for the operational area.
  • Promote a safe working environment and identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
  • Grow and develop staff, identifying training needs and increased responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with the SVP, Distribution Operations to review and implement changes to SOPs for improved productivity.
  • Manage workflow and interact with HR, finance, IT, and other departments.
  • Meet client expectations, ensuring service targets and contractual obligations are fulfilled.
  • Investigate and solve problems reported by clients or their customers.
  • Train leaders within the management chain on business-related activities.
  • Comply with and oversee investigations of non-conformance activity and participate in QNCR/CAPA programs with the Quality team.
  • Monitor employee orientation and training to ensure performance standards are met.
  • Provide client support and engage in client-facing interactions, communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Model inclusive behaviors, manage bias, and demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Manage resources across multiple shifts to meet contractual obligations.
  • Support client relationships by attaining service level expectations.
  • Own and deliver the operational budget, including safety, productivity, financial, and labor planning goals.
  • Travel 10% of the time to EVERSANA facilities and/or client sites.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • College degree and a minimum of 7 years of direct experience in distribution management, preferably in the life science or medical device industry.
  • Comprehensive applied knowledge in warehousing and distribution operations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced analytical, evaluative, and critical thinking skills, including data and trend analysis.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments to execute projects and initiatives.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop integrated, creative solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Working knowledge of WMS and/or TMS platforms.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Focus on continuous quality improvement across the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3PL experience.
  • Sample management experience.
  • DEA and FDA communication experience.
  • Cold-chain experience.
  • Six Sigma certification.
  • Project management experience.
  • Lean methodology and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Implementation experience with new technology, such as WMS systems and material handling equipment (MHE).

Physical/Mental Demands and Working Environment

  • Frequently required to reach, grasp, stand, and/or sit for long periods (up to 90% of the shift), walk, talk, and hear.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Work environment is moderately quiet with frequent interruptions and multiple demands.

Pay

This role is eligible for hire in select U.S. locations based on business and operational considerations. Compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). If this job posting includes a base salary range, it represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S.
