Distribution Plant Manager

About the role

EVERSANA is a global team of over 7,000 employees dedicated to creating and delivering next-generation commercialization services for the life sciences industry. As Plant Manager, you will provide day-to-day leadership for all Distribution Center operational functions, including receiving, order fulfillment, inventory control, replenishment, and shipping of pharmaceutical products. This role is accountable for timely product receipts, storage location management, inventory accuracy, and acts as the site leader for building maintenance and security. You will manage a team of exempt and non-exempt employees while ensuring compliance, operational excellence, and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with SOPs across all operational areas.
  • Achieve operational excellence by managing accuracy, efficiency, and production targets.
  • Create and track P&L for your area of operation.
  • Promote a safe working environment and identify inefficiencies for improvement.
  • Develop and train staff, identifying opportunities for increased responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with the SVP, Distribution Operations to review and implement changes to SOPs for productivity improvements.
  • Manage workflow and interact with departments such as HR, finance, and IT.
  • Ensure the facility meets client expectations, service targets, and contractual obligations.
  • Investigate and resolve issues reported by clients or their customers.
  • Train leaders within your management chain on business-related activities.
  • Comply with and oversee investigations of non-conformance activity and participate in QNCR/CAPA programs with the Quality team.
  • Monitor employee orientation and training to ensure consistent performance standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, their customers, and internal staff regarding feedback and company information.
  • Model inclusive behaviors and proactively manage bias to achieve quality excellence.

  • Manage resources across multiple shifts to meet contractual obligations.
  • Support client and customer relationships by attaining service level expectations.

  • Travel up to 10% of the time to EVERSANA facilities and/or client sites.

Requirements

  • College degree and a minimum of 7 years of direct experience in distribution management, preferably in the life science or medical device industry.
  • Comprehensive applied knowledge in warehousing and distribution operations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced analytical, evaluative, and critical thinking skills, including data and trend analysis.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments to execute projects and initiatives.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop integrated, creative solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Working knowledge of WMS and/or TMS platforms.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Focus on continuous quality improvement across the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3PL experience.
  • Sample management experience.
  • DEA and FDA communication experience.
  • Cold-chain experience.
  • Six Sigma certification.
  • Project management experience.
  • Lean methodology and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Implementation experience with new technology, such as WMS systems and material handling equipment (MHE).

Physical/Mental Demands and Working Environment

  • Frequently required to reach, grasp, stand, and/or sit for long periods (up to 90% of the shift), walk, talk, and hear.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Work environment is moderately quiet with frequent interruptions and multiple demands.

Pay

This role is eligible for hire in select U.S. locations based on business and operational considerations. If this job posting includes a base salary range, it represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living).
