Distribution Field Tech 1 - CC
Position Overview
The position is the first level of field technician positions within Pike Engineering. It may serve as a training slot for a Designer and/or CAD position within the organization.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Collects facilities field data as specified for use by others in updating facilities records or preparing design documents.
- Works with senior technical or engineering employees in the field, acting as a design or staking assistant.
- Adheres to and advocates for Pike Engineering's Core Values.
- Familiarizes and follows all practices outlined in the Pike Engineering Safety Manual.
- Accurately and neatly gathers field data using various tools and devices.
- Identifies items to be documented in the field with minimal supervisory assistance.
- Learns and applies technology tools such as hand-held data collection units, laser range finders, digital cameras, and GPS receivers.
- Accurately records measurements and dimensions of requested items.
- Ensures the resulting product is clear and easily understood by office-based project personnel.
- Maintains production targets and understands the importance of project deliverables and milestones.
- May assist in power restoration efforts during natural disaster events (e.g., driver, wire sitter, runner).
- Records data and measurements using correct standards and symbology.
- Manages multiple tasks and assists in the training of new peers.
- Works independently and collaborates effectively with team members.
- Communicates effectively with clients and promotes a safe working environment.
- Works in an outside environment and may require overnight travel.
