Responsibilities
- Outbound: Verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by comparing identifying information and counting, weighing, or measuring items of outgoing shipments to verify information against shipping orders or other records. Packages SKU’s as instructed using correct packing materials. Processes shipments using provided shipping system following all instructions. Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or identifying shipping information on cartons. Posts weights for shipping charges. Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications; and Stocks and prepares workstation with shipping materials and supplies.
- Inbound: Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or packing list and examines stock to verify conformance to specifications. Communicates inaccuracies on inbound SKU’s to Receiving Supervisor and stages freight in question as directed (OSD storage), marking paperwork as needed. Stores articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according to identifying information such as part number, size, system directions or type of material. Transfers receipts to stocking zone, storing in overstock if needed; completes put away of non-conveyable receipts. Handles inbound personal packages as directed (keeps log and forwards to mail room); Verifies inbound items are shelf/saleable ready; labels/re-packs as needed. Stocks parts transferred from other facilities and fills out internal documents as needed. Opens, logs, and transfers returned goods to the Returns department and helps re-box and stock large returned goods. Forwards return transfer documents to Receiving Supervisor for adjustments. Cuts stock to size to fill order. Moves or transports material or supplies to other departments. Helps Zone Pickers with large items requiring the use of powered lifts; and Backup domestic shipping as needed.
- Picking: Replenishes and picks customer orders while maintaining a neat and orderly work environment within establishments by using RF equipment to pick customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or replenishments as well as determining items to be moved, gathered, or distributed while maintaining production standard. Conveys materials and items from receiving areas/conveyor belt to stocking or other storage areas. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as home location, size, type, style, color, or product code. Picks customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or carts or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department. Verifies materials are marked with identifying information. Opens boxes, pallets and other containers. Counts items for distribution within DC to ensure conformance to company standards. Uses handheld RF equipment to enter records; and Can be certified to drive electric lift to transport stored items from stock locations to shipping stations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to appropriately respond to questions from managers or other team members
- Basic computer skills required. May be required to use RF equipment
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift or move up to 20 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis. Ability to stand for periods of up to eight (8) hours per workday.
