Distribution Clerk

About the role

The primary focus of this position is to work in the order entry area monitoring and processing customer orders, with a heavy emphasis on data entry. This role requires excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow multiple processes and technical steps within a structured workflow. The position involves cross-training to work in multiple areas, with duties that are repetitive and require analysis and individual judgment. Supervision ranges from general direction to direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Enter prescription orders into Lab Management Software System—monitor incoming orders and add new orders.
• Process reorders and specialized or miscellaneous orders as needed.
• Run reports to check job status and ensure progress of jobs in the production process.
• Evaluate and check frames, adjusting and processing accordingly.
• Tray up work by expected delivery and priority level.
• Reroute work to inter-company offsite locations as needed.
• Conduct price verifications and research product availability.
• Act as backup for tracing, product inventory management, and receiving.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Observe all company policies, rules, and safety practices.

Requirements

• High School education or equivalent preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience; previous related experience and/or training preferred.
• Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
• Strong written communication skills—ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to focus on minute details of a project or task.
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, decimal numerical sequencing).
• Ten-key and typing experience required; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to learn internal lab management computer systems.
• Strong fine motor skills and dexterity.

Pay

Starting pay range: $15.00 per hour. Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan.
