Assist in the management and development of a fast-paced distribution center, leading a professional distribution team to meet the changing demands of our industry and customers. Coordinate outgoing and incoming shipments, ensure order accuracy, and maintain excellent customer service. Oversee storage, handling, and documentation of products and inventories while adhering to Health, Safety, and C-TPAT policies. This hands-on role involves collaboration with other departments to ensure the success of the distribution center operation.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the shipping team to ensure all orders are shipped on time and meet IPEX shipment service and quality standards.
- Monitor workbench software to prevent service failures and audit shipments for accuracy.
- Monitor productivity and balance workload to expedite customer orders.
- Ensure inbound receiving is processed within the company standard of 36–48 hours.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints, communicating feedback to distribution center employees for corrective and preventive measures.
- Manage and coordinate activities of warehouse and yard staff, responding to requests and resolving conflicts.
- Provide feedback to the distribution center manager about employee performance and conduct performance reviews.
- Track time and attendance and conduct investigations related to Health & Safety/HR, providing appropriate discipline for hourly employees.
- Collaborate with employees to set goals and conduct yearly performance reviews.
- Schedule and approve employee time cards.
- Improve staff performance through motivation, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees while ensuring their safety.
- Check loads for health & safety and C-TPAT compliance.
- Assist in recruiting, orienting, and training new warehouse/yard employees.
- Address immediate packaging issues and work with logistics on transfers and purchase orders.
- Review employee start-up inspection sheets.
- Assist in developing and promoting health & safety initiatives.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through periodic cycle and physical counts; investigate inventory shortages and initiate corrections in the system (Infoflo).
- Participate in the planning of the annual physical inventory.
- Hold monthly safety and employee meetings.
- Ensure the distribution center follows internal practices such as TMS, Supply Chain Security program, SOPs, and company standards.
- Maintain an orderly yard and warehouse, ensuring stock is stored in assigned locations (pipe and fittings).
- Coordinate with DC Operators to ensure plant production meets distribution standards and all product is received and put away efficiently.
- Maintain sufficient stock of packaging and warehouse supplies to ensure continuous operations.
- Contribute to monthly inspections, 5S inspections, and safety audits.
- Support manufacturing by ensuring products are moved efficiently and rotated according to production dates (FIFO).
- Collaborate with plant management, sales, planning, and other internal departments (order dispatchers, transportation, deployment, production, procurement, customer service) as well as external stakeholders (carriers, vendors, customers).
- Communicate and implement procedures related to HR, Health & Safety, and Logistics.
- Ensure proper training of employees according to internal standards and industry regulations.
- Coordinate repairs and purchases for the warehouse and yard.
- Act as a resource for new program development and implementation, exercising positive leadership with IPEX sales offices, logistics planners, and other Distribution Centre Coordinators.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Completion of a high school diploma or practical equivalency.
- Several years of working experience in a distribution/warehouse environment.
- Health and Safety and First Aid Training certificates are an asset.
- Must successfully pass a C-TPAT background check.
- Minimum two years in a supervisory role.
- Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience in RF and SAP environments is an asset.
- Forklift driving experience is an asset.

Working Conditions
- Exposure to a moderate level of hazards in the work environment, including chemicals, commercial products, potential toxins, moving machinery, repetitive motion, and excessive noise.
- Regular presence in the warehouse and yard, with occasional exposure to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.
- Moderate level of physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, muscular action, body movements, working positions, posture changes, and visual attentiveness.
- Required to wear protective eyewear, safety vest, appropriate gloves, safety shoes, and/or other protective equipment.
- May experience mental tension or anxiety due to changing work priorities, deadlines, accuracy requirements, quotas, and conflicting demands.
Pay
$74,100.00 - $92,600.00 per year
