Distribution Center EH&S Specialist - 2nd Shift

About the role

The Distribution Center EH&S Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment at the Stanley Black & Decker Jackson Distribution Center. Reporting to the EHS Manager, this position involves direct interaction with various departments, regulatory agencies, and the Corporate EHS team.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily EHS support and assist with other sites as needed.
• Maintain an EHS management system for waste reduction and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and implement safety programs focusing on ergonomics, safe behaviors, and hazard identification.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal safety/health regulations.
• Support annual EHS audits and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor and maintain safety contingency programs for emergencies.
• Investigate safety incidents and conduct Root Cause Analysis.
• Stay updated on safety standards and best practices, and implement necessary programs and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Health & Safety or Environmental Sciences preferred.
• 3-5 years’ experience in maintaining an EHS culture in a warehouse environment.
• Knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 standards.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data.
• Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and EHS Data Management system.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Qualifications

• Physical demands include regular standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and hand usage.
• Occasionally exposed to extreme temperatures.
