Distribution Associate Midday

About the Role

Raymour & Flanigan is a long-term, privately held company that invests in its associates' future success. This role involves handling case goods, bedding, and upholstered furniture in a warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Unload case goods, bedding, and/or upholstered furniture using a two-wheel hand cart and assist with second-person lifts as needed.
• Stage and load/unload products for shipping or storage in the warehouse.
• Palletize and box products when necessary.
• Operate mobile lift equipment to bin product and place incoming items into warehouse racks.
• Retrieve product from aisle racks based on assigned load sheets after clearance by scanner, and load trailers.
• Pick up breakage, miscellaneous wood, plastic, and maintain housekeeping standards.
• Inspect for damaged product and avoid loading damaged items for customer shipment.
• Interact professionally with coworkers and respond to their requests.
• Meet established product rates and accuracy standards.
• Perform additional functions as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Work well with others and function in a team environment.
• Safely operate all required equipment.
• Ability to move extremities and spine through a functional range of motion for safe material handling from floor to overhead, including occasional work in awkward postures.
• Sufficient strength in the trunk and extremities to perform tasks in multiple positions, from floor to overhead.
• Ability to extend hands and arms in any direction (reaching), seize, hold, and grasp items (handling), and work primarily with fingers (fingering) throughout the workday.
• Demonstrate sufficient capacity to lift, carry, push, and pull, with excellent balance to maintain equilibrium in all positions.
• Meet the minimal physical demands of a Very-HEAVY classification as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor.
• Wear required PPE: steel-toe shoes and a fall protection harness.

Work Environment

• Exposure to slip and trip hazards, including pallets on the floor and wet weather conditions.
• Work in varying temperatures on the loading dock and yard, including unheated trailers and mechanically heated (but not cooled) warehouse spaces.
• Cold and hot temperature exposure due to working in and out of unheated trailers.

Qualifications

• Excellent listening skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
