About the Role

Responsible for the receipt, tracking, sorting, and distribution of mail or other items for TriWest Healthcare Alliance. Supports functions in Distribution Services and Corporate Facilities as needed. Uses mechanical equipment and performs minor repairs as required.

Responsibilities

  • Inputs data daily to produce labels for mailing or shipping
  • Sorts incoming mail for distribution
  • Meets critical deadlines for high priority mail and modifies delivery schedules as needed to meet those deadlines
  • Delivers and picks up mail throughout the corporate buildings on a set daily schedule
  • Receives deliveries and accountable mail from various vendors and expedited services, and processes them in Smart Track receiving system software
  • Receives company-purchased items, physically inspects, inputs into PeopleSoft, and asset tags for Fixed Asset tracking by Finance/Accounting
  • Coordinates bulk shipping of items to Hubs, evaluating the time requirement with the most cost-effective method of delivery
  • Completes and maintains all logs used for tracking of items and functions performed in the Smart Track and Hasler/Neopost postage system software
  • Uses palm pilot to track packages and addressee signatures
  • Performs other courier functions as needed
  • Meters all mail with the correct date and postage for its class of mailing
  • Uses automated mailing equipment to record and meter mail for its correct class of mailing
  • Assists customers in determining best practices for mailing and shipping, including evaluation of cost-effectiveness
  • Occasionally assists with packaging materials for shipment
  • Processes Express, Certified, and other postal tracking options
  • Processes outgoing shipments through FedEx Powership 2 system
  • Monitors maintenance and fuel of department vehicle
  • Operates and maintains the Distribution forklift
  • Performs routine maintenance on postage meter system
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Preferred mail processing experience
  • Previous experience in customer service
  • Must have a good driving record
  • Availability to cover any work shift as needed
  • Must be able to lift mailing materials or shipments of between 20 to 30 pounds unassisted for at least 20 minutes at a time
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Must be able to work on feet for extended periods of time
  • Level II IT Security Clearance required

  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of U.S. Postal regulations and the operation of automated mail processing equipment; ability to acquire knowledge related to mail processing equipment; ability to learn and understand other department functions within the company to determine critical mail delivery locations for mail addressed to indeterminate recipients; ability to operate an electric forklift; ability to continuously lift mailing materials or shipments of between 20 to 30 pounds unassisted for at least 20 minutes at a time; ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted; ability to stand for long periods while operating equipment or sorting mail; ability to use software-driven equipment and competent in the use of PCs, email, and various Microsoft Office products

Pay

This position generally ranges from around $37,000 - $41,000 per year.
