Distributed Energy Solutions System Administrator
Job Summary
Leads the project implementation of software services for Distributed Energy Solutions (DES) and provides technical support services for distributed energy resource (DER) programs which includes energy efficiency (EE), demand response, building and transportation electrification, distributed generation, and storage. Leads the iEnergy software services project implementation that are used throughout the DES department.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Models the mission, vision, values, and culture of the organization
- Provides technical subject matter expertise for software systems that support department program implementation; effectively communicates to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Performs or helps guide research and analysis to develop energy savings or impacts for a wide variety of commercial and residential DER technologies that meet regulatory and program guidelines
- Develops, supports and maintains rebate application materials, energy saving calculation tools, and online program tracking applications and databases
- Collaborates with municipal utility staff, contractors, and consultants to identify DER implementation strategies and make recommendations for DES programs and services
- Prepares status reports and process documents to accurately describe activities and to monitor progress toward department projects
- Oversees technical and program process flows of complex Distributed Energy Solutions programs, requiring coordination with the Distributed Energy Solutions team and other interdepartmental stakeholders supporting program implementation
- Builds and maintains relationships with management, owner communities, consultants, building code officials, public officials and interest groups
- Generates and revises calculation tools to improve accuracy of quantifiable impacts of energy programs
- Contributes to the evolution of program strategies and the design of program features and services
- Collaborates with department and municipal utility staff and consultants to maintain and update technical resource manuals including conducting or guiding research and analysis to develop energy savings plans to meet program standards for commercial and/or residential DER technologies
- Develops and maintains the implementation of data in customer energy program applications through various online platforms
- Supports the evaluation of cost and benefits of various DER technologies
Other Functions
- Maintains awareness of new technologies, new program and service models and utility best practices to maintain effective programs
- Absolutely no weekend or evening work required outside of traditional work hours
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Proficiency in standard business productivity and collaboration tools, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software in a Microsoft environment
- Demonstrated ability to clearly express ideas in both written and verbal communications
- Prominent self-motivation and creativity working in small group work environment
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross functional team with both internal and external partners
- Skilled and ability to provide excellent customer service
- Proven ability to lead collaborative efforts and achieve results through influence rather than direct supervision
- Knowledge of customer energy programs supporting various DER technologies
- Skilled in understanding utility energy program methods and best practices
- Skilled with a high degree of organization and attention to detail
- Experience working and developing online platforms or applications through Software-as-a-Service systems such as iEnergy, Salesforce, or other similar applications
- Experience performing research and analysis on energy efficiency measures, along with energy consumption analyses, is preferred
Qualifications
- Required education and licenses:
- Degree in engineering, energy management, business administration, information technology, environmental science from an accredited college or university, or closely related technical field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Current valid driver’s license and ability to remain insurable under the vehicle liability policy
Physical Demands
Minimal physical effort typically found in clerical work. Primarily sedentary, may occasionally lift and carry light objects. Minimal walking or standing as needed. Hazards Minimal exposure to hazards are typically found in general office environment where there is rarely to no exposure to injury or accident.
Pay
Full range: $122,373 to $177,442
Hiring range: $122,373 to $149,908
