Distinguished Engineer - Agentic AI (Remote-Eligible)
About the role
As a Distinguished Engineer at Capital One, you will be part of a community of technical experts working to define the future of banking in the cloud. You will work alongside talented developers, machine learning experts, product managers, and people leaders. Distinguished Engineers are leading experts in their domains, helping devise practical and reusable solutions to complex problems. You will drive innovation at multiple levels, optimizing business outcomes while driving towards strong technology solutions.
In this role, you will focus on Business Cards & Payments (BC&P), whose mission is to help businesses do more business. You will move BC&P beyond manual and reactive marketing and sales tools, creating a destination architecture for marketing platforms, building tools to enhance sales team effectiveness, and laying the technical foundations of a real-time marketing strategy.
You will make direct contributions by defining long-term technical strategy and hands-on prototyping, launching, and scaling agentic systems. Example areas include:
- Real-time, hyper-personalized marketing systems that accurately and explainably prospect and engage new business customers.
- Assistive technologies that arm field agents with superhuman knowledge and context to grow deeper relationships and close more sales.
- Exploration of autonomous sales agents (AISDRs) that self-improve via RLAIF.
You will lead through direct technical contribution, prototyping new features and systems, acting as a trusted advisor for key technologies, shaping future architecture, and sharing knowledge internally and externally. Additionally, you will promote engineering excellence, foster an inclusive environment, and mentor the next generation of technical talent.
